William (Bill) Wilson serves as executive managing director, overseeing Texas Capital Bank’s Small Business Administration (SBA) and Business Banking. Wilson joined Texas Capital Bank as the Houston region president in May 2009 and was promoted to Houston region chairman in June 2013. In 2018, Wilson was promoted to executive managing director.
Before joining Texas Capital Bank, Wilson served as the Central Texas region president for Wachovia Bank from 2004 to 2009. Based in Austin, Wilson was responsible for Wachovia's banking operations in Austin and San Antonio.
He has more than 40 years of banking experience, including 20 years with Bank of America and its predecessor banks. During his tenure with Bank of America, Wilson managed the Commercial Banking Group in Houston from 1989 to 1995.
Born in Lockhart, Texas, Wilson earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Southern Methodist University in 1975. He is also a graduate of the ABA National Commercial Lending School at the University of Oklahoma in Norman.
