Executive Managing Director, Commercial Banking
Bill Wilson serves as executive managing director, overseeing Texas Capital Bank’s Commercial Banking practice, including Business Banking and Small Business Administration Lending. Wilson joined Texas Capital Bank as the Houston region president in May 2009 and was promoted to Houston region chairman in June 2013. In 2018, Wilson was promoted to managing director.
Before joining Texas Capital Bank, Wilson had been the Central Texas region president for Wachovia Bank since February 2004. Based in Austin, Wilson was responsible for Wachovia's banking operations in Austin and San Antonio.
He has more than 40 years banking experience, including 20 years with Bank of America and its predecessor banks. During his tenure with Bank of America, Wilson managed the Commercial Banking Group in Houston from 1989 to 1995.
Born in Lockhart, Texas, Wilson earned bachelor’s degree in finance from Southern Methodist University in 1975. He also is a graduate of the ABA National Commercial Lending School at the University of Oklahoma in Norman.
