David Youngberg

David Youngberg is Managing Director, Chief Credit Officer at Texas Capital. He is responsible for leading the bank’s Credit organization, leveraging a broad range of experience in credit risk and enterprise risk management to develop solutions-focused strategies for the credit approval, underwriting, and monitoring processes.

David joined Texas Capital in March 2023. Previously, he served in progressive leadership roles over a 20-year career at Goldman Sachs. He most recently served as a managing director in enterprise risk management, focusing on the risk management of new businesses, developing a comprehensive capital and risk testing strategy, and strengthening capital management activities and risk reporting practices across the firm. David first joined Goldman Sachs in the credit department and over his career has covered numerous industries as well as a variety of traded products across the credit risk management spectrum. Prior, he served as an active-duty engineer officer in the U.S. Army.

David earned a Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a retired colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve and a veteran of Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
