John Cervantes is a Senior Vice President and Investment Advisor with Texas Capital Bank Private Wealth Advisors. John joined Texas Capital Bank in August of 2022, bringing over 14 years of experience advising and managing investment portfolios for families of high and ultra-high net worth.
Prior to joining Texas Capital Bank, John was a Senior Investment Manager at Merrill Lynch where he was responsible for $1.25 billion in client assets for one of the largest wealth management practices in the country. He created and directly managed a suite of investment strategies focused on the US Value Equity and Global Asset Allocation categories. John also developed the team’s Private Equity processes, focusing on fund selection and client allocations. He began his career at JPMorgan Chase, later transitioning to USAA.
John was born and raised in San Antonio, graduated with a BA in Finance from UT San Antonio. He is a CFA® charterholder and member of the CFA Society of San Antonio. John resides in San Antonio with his wife Kaycee, and two children Edee and John Kelly.
Cathy Haffner
Cathy Haffner is a Senior Vice President, Private Client Advisor for Texas Capital Bank Private Wealth Advisors, in San Antonio, TX. She brings over 30 years of experience in retail and business banking, as well as wealth management for high-net-worth clients.
As a Private Client Advisor, she is the relationship manager bringing the expertise of the Texas Capital advisory team to her clients, including Estate & Wealth Planning strategies, Investment management, Trust & Estate Administration, Concierge Private Banking, and Insurance & Brokerage services. Cathy began her banking career with Bank of America in Seattle, in marketing and product management. Early in her career, she was a retail banker, business banker, and mortgage lender. Highlights in her banking career include senior leadership roles at U.S. Bancorp as the Regional Manager of 70+ retail branches, PNC Financial Services and SunTrust Banks as Senior Vice President, Corporate Marketing and Product management.
Cathy has served on several local community boards, including The Children’s Bereavement Center of South Texas, Community in Schools – San Antonio, and Dress for Success – San Antonio. She is an alumna of Seattle University and Stanford University Graduate School of Business. She has three adult daughters, and enjoys tennis, pickleball, and fitness.
Jean Davis
Jean Davis delivers comprehensive personal trust services in her role as Vice President and Senior Fiduciary Officer. With more than 30 years experience in all areas of trust management, estate settlement, and client service, Jean assists clients regarding complex fiduciary matters. She is known for providing in-depth personal advice and service for her trust beneficiary clients to help them achieve their goals and objectives. Jean also coordinates the overall trust relationship with the entire Texas Capital Bank team which includes the Private Client Advisor, Investment Advisor and Banking Advisor, for an exceptional client experience.
Jean began her career with J.P. Morgan Private Bank (and the various banks that were acquired by JPMorgan Chase over the years), spending 30-plus years in their trust department. She advanced to ultimately serve as a trust officer where she managed the trusts of significant family relationships in Central Texas. Jean then served as a Senior Fiduciary Officer at Wells Fargo prior to joining Texas Capital Bank Private Wealth Advisors in early 2020.
David Stevens is an Investment Advisor responsible for managing the investments and asset allocations of wealthy clients across multiple asset classes. He began his career with Ernst & Young, LLP, providing assurance and advisory business services for private investment companies, hedge funds, private equity funds and real estate funds. He then joined Credit Suisse Family Wealth Management as an Associate Portfolio Manager with responsibility for managing over $800 million across ten asset classes for ultra-high net worth clients, including foundations, endowments and profit-sharing plans. David also was the Co-Manager of separately managed fixed income accounts totaling over $100 million. He then joined J.P. Morgan Private Bank as a Global Investment Specialist and Portfolio Manager with direct management of over $400 million in assets and $600 million of assets under his supervision for high-net-worth families and foundations. David is an Investment Advisor on our Texas Capital Bank Private Wealth Advisors team where he focuses on portfolio management across multiple asset classes and works closely with his clients to align their financial plan and investment portfolio with their short term and long-term financial goals. In addition to his duties as an investment advisor, David manages our Customized Municipal Bond Strategy, which has grown by nearly $200 million in assets over the past 2 years.
David received a Masters of Accountancy and Bachelors of Accountancy from Brigham Young University. He is a member of the Nature Conservancy and an active supporter of the Alamo Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. David speaks Korean, loves hiking, playing soccer, teaching Sunday School and spending time with his wife Sarah and their four children. Their children include Autumn, Lauren, Asher, and Seth.
