C. Kelly Rentzel serves as Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary for Texas Capital Bank, N.A., and its parent company, Texas Capital Bancshares, Inc. (NASDAQ®: TCBI). Her primary responsibilities include providing legal counsel and support to the management and boards of both entities, supervising a team of in-house attorneys, and overseeing outside counsel. She also serves on multiple management committees of the bank.

Before joining Texas Capital Bank as its first in-house attorney in 2012, Rentzel spent six years working for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, where she was a staff attorney for U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeffrey A. Kaplan. Prior to that position, she spent five years in private practice, first at Baker Botts LLP, and then at litigation boutique Sayles Werbner PC.

An active member of the legal community, Rentzel serves on the Board of the Dallas Bar Association (DBA), is immediate past president of the Southwest Association of Bank Counsel, and is a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. She also co-chairs the DBA’s Peer Assistance Committee, and, for her work in raising mental health awareness, she received a Presidential Citation from the DBA and a Corporate Counsel Award for “Outstanding Service.”

Rentzel earned a dual degree in English and managerial studies with honors from Rice University. She attended the SMU Dedman School of Law on a full-tuition academic scholarship, serving as Articles Editor for the SMU Law Review before graduating with honors. Rentzel was a 2019 recipient of the SMU Dedman School of Law Distinguished Alumni Award.
