What is the Passport?
The Passport is a new online security feature that will become part of your
Online sign-in process. The introduction of the Passport reflects our ongoing
commitment to improving the level of security for our Online clients. Your
Passport provides an additional layer of security every time you log in to your
Online Services. This additional layer of security helps ensure that your
Online information is secure, protecting you from fraud and identity theft.
Your Passport consists of three parts: a Passport image, a Passport phrase, and
three challenge questions only you can answer. All three components help
protect our clients, whether they are signing in to their Online Services from
their own computer, or from somewhere else (such as work or a public library).
Why do I need the Passport?
The Passport helps us protect client information and transactions from fraud and
identity theft in two ways. First, it lets you know that you are at the Online
Banking site, rather than a phony look-alike site. Secondly, it allows us to
validate you as the true owner of the account. Additionally, if we do not
recognize the computer you are using, we will ask you your selected challenge
questions as an additional line of defense against unauthorized access to your
accounts.
The increased use of online banking and financial services and the surge of
identity theft have prompted Federal regulators to mandate security
enhancements for internet-based financial services for all financial
institutions.
Is there a fee for the Passport?
The Passport is free. It's just one more way we're working with you to safeguard
your privacy and security.
Has my Access ID changed?
No, your Access ID has not changed. You will still log in using your existing
Access ID. However, we have now combined Manage Your Account into the Online
Banking system, which has eliminated the need for two Access ID’s. Simply use
your Online Banking Access ID to login to these combined services. If you do
not have Online Banking and only use the Manage Your Account system, please
contact Client Support for assistance.
Has my password changed?
No, your password has not changed. You will still log in using your existing
password.
What about Manage Your Account?
Manage Your Account has now been combined in to the Online Banking System. If
you do not have Online Banking and only access Manage Your Account, please
contact Client Support for assistance. The Manage Your Account Access ID and
Manage Your Account Password are no longer valid.
Will I be able to change my Passport Image?
A default Passport Image will be provided to you at enrollment, and you must
keep this selection initially. You will then be able to change your Passport
Image after completing the enrollment process. Within Online Banking, select
"Account Options", "Change Security Data" then you will be able to select a new
Passport Image from a library of thousands of images.
I sometimes access Online Banking from a public computer, such as at an
Internet Cafe or at work. Can I still use those types of computers to do my
Online Banking?
Yes, you can continue to use public computers to access Online Banking. As part
of your enrollment in the Passport process from your home computer (or other
non-public computer you regularly use), you will complete a series of challenge
questions and confirm your email address. If you need to access Online Banking
from a non-public computer, you will be provided with an additional
confirmation process using the challenge questions or email, and then will be
granted access to the system.
Am I required to enroll in the Passport?
Yes, we are requiring all Online Banking users to enroll in the Passport for
their security. We’re confident that you will find the process easy to use and
convenient.
Why should I register my computer?
Each computer has a unique set of characteristics, similar to a fingerprint. By
registering the computer, its unique set of characteristics will be stored by
Online Banking and used as additional validation criteria during subsequent
logins. If you choose not to register a computer, you will be presented with a
different validation process consisting of challenge questions/answers or a
one-time password sent to your email address of record. Thus, we encourage you
to register your computer and make for a more convenient, yet secure, login
process.
Is there a limitation on the number of computers I may register?
There is no limit on the number of computers you may register.
