Texas Capital Bank was started by a group of entrepreneurial bankers who set out to build “The Best Business Bank in Texas™.” Launched in December 1998 with an initial capitalization of $80 million (believed to be the largest start-up bank in U.S. history), the company was founded by Texas banking icon Joseph M. (Jody) Grant, PhD, author of two banking books and American Banker’s “Community Banker of the Year.”
Since then, Texas Capital Bank has grown from a small, private company into one of the largest independent banks in Texas. As of September 30, 2011, with more than $7.7 billion in total assets. The Bank is publicly traded on NASDAQ® under the symbol TCBI.
