John D. Hudgens

Chief Risk Officer

As Chief Risk Officer of Texas Capital Bank, John Hudgens is responsible for defining and managing credit policy to maintain an acceptable credit risk profile for the Bank. As Chief Risk Officer and Chairman of the Risk Management Committee, he is also responsible for ensuring that the Bank effectively manages all applicable business risks from an enterprise perspective. 

Hudgens joined the Bank in 1999 as Chief Credit Officer having started his banking career 20 years earlier in the Dallas-Fort Worth market.  His experience includes relationship management assignments and management roles within credit administration, corporate and correspondent banking, commercial credit underwriting and problem loan administration.

Hudgens holds a master’s of business administration in finance and accounting from the University of Texas at Austin, where he also earned his bachelor’s degree in business as part of the honors program.  He also attended the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.
